CAMANO SAIL AND POWER,
LLC
FLOAT
TEST
Every participant in any small sailboat program at Camano
Sail and Power must successfully pass a float test prior to the first water
session of such program. In deep water,
while wearing a wet suit and booties, you must float, tread water or swim in place for ten
minutes. In the final minute of the test
you must put on a PFD (personal flotation device) while continuing to tread
water. A ten-minute float test is valid
for two years for any small sailboat program at Camano Power and Sail.
Float tests may be taken at any swimming pool or beach under
the supervision of an American Red Cross lifeguard. Float tests will be administered at the Camano Island
State Park waterfront
facility of Camano Sail and Power, in the waters of Saratoga Passage, and must be witnessed by two instructors or
instructional assistants who will administer the test from a safety boat
holding a line attached to the waist of the person being tested.
